Dolphins do not drink water. Seawater hurt them and maybe could even kill them. They get the necessary fluids through the food they eat.

Zoologists know that marine mammals such as seals, dolphins, manatees and whales occasionally drink sea water, but do not know how often they do. However, these animals have other alternatives to get their daily ration of water. Thus, for example, is present in the food they eat. Recall that the vital element is one of the byproducts of the metabolism of fats and carbohydrates.

The salt content in the blood of marine mammals is three times lower than in seawater, similar to their terrestrial relatives or any other vertebrate concentration. The kidney of these mammals is particularly suitable to collect as many as possible and eliminate salt through the urine. For example, the sea lions pee is 2.5 times saltier than seawater. Other strategies that are rooted in these mammals avoid excessively salty foods and drink fresh water whenever they can.
